Happy Pi Day

Pierre Pierce Pie Baker Character Illustration Design Mobster Gangster

Pierre “Pie” Pierce

Sing a song of sixpence,
a pocket full of rye.
three point one four inch saw,
baked in a pie.

When the pie was opened,
Inmates began to shout;
hacking at the jail bars,
sawing, breaking out.

The warden, in his office,
sleeping all the day;
till alarms went ringing,
they ran to get away.

Sing a song of six men,
running for their lives,
with the help from a baker,
who sent them several knives.

The baker is off baking,
a P.I. showed at his door,
asking lots of questions,
on and on, forever more.

Packing up the truck,
apple, plum and grape
off to county prison,
to plan the next escape.

Carry pies carefully,
wipes his glasses clear.
Stands up straight and tall,
and puts on his face of cheer.

The baker meets the guard,
with a glimmer in his eye,
I’ll ask you once again, Sir,
What is in the pie?

Leo Black

The 50th Mobster!

Leo Black

(In the style of a 1930s Jim Croce)

Drive in his car, he’ll play the guitar,

sit right back and he’ll sing you a track.

Grumpy, frumpy, old and lumpy,

this big boss is Leo Black.

Shrewd, crude and rather rude,

he controls the land, south of the track.

Joking, smoking, always provoking

everyone from the river and back.

There was a sighting, which incited fighting,

when I got lost and found Mickey Mac.

Chaw was smacking, knuckles cracking,

I said, “Hey, Mac, cut me some slack.”

Mac grinned in the wind, and I was pinned

“Hey, I’m just a kid, and they call me Jack.”

Down on the ground, in the wrong part of town,

I needed something to stop this attack.

Black came out from my car, with my guitar,

Mac looked at him crazy, as he began to unpack.

“What’s with the case, gonna sing us a song?”

The boys came at Black to give him flak.

Then the boys all fled, away from the lead,

shooting from the case, clack clack clack!

Leo Black may be mad and real bad,

I’m just glad Black had my back.

“Ink” McGillicutty

“Ink” McGillicutty

Some have said she is a real pinup girl.

The one, inspired men around the world

to paint on planes and tanks, and post on walls.

She seems to be the gal that gets the calls.

For ink, it runs so deeply on her skin,

but does it show what truly lies within?

A serpent crawls, a lion calls, you see

and anchors all about, just like the sea.

They all say she is quite a mystery.

For no one seems to know her history.

But there is no need to ask, spy, or think,

it all is written plainly down in ink.

Many suspect that each confess a crime.

No cases were made, and she served no time.

She’ll be with a man, in town, wearing mink,

next day, he’s gone, and she is freshly inked.
